About Podkstr
A podcast production platform in the browser: remote recording, multitrack editing and publishing through an RSS feed.
Origin
Podkstr is built by Cyril Pereira, a music producer who also develops SaaS platforms.
Thirty years of DAWs and audio software on one side, designing and running online platforms on the other. Music also made him familiar with distribution channels: Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer, their format constraints and their publishing rules.
His wife produces a podcast that has built its community over the years. For every episode, she went through one tool to record, another to edit, a third to publish and a fourth to track listens. A lot of time went into tasks that had nothing to do with the content.
He built Podkstr for her. One tool that covers the whole chain, from recording to publishing, without her having to learn studio software.
Principles
The app inherits directly from that experience. Its layout follows the principles of a DAW, without the complexity. Distribution follows the actual requirements of listening platforms. And the interface stays simple, because Podkstr's first user was not a sound engineer.
